Agra is home to the Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal. It is about a four hour car ride from New Delhi.

The country was governed from here and contained the largest state treasury and a mint. This was the royal palace where the king, his family, court and had a mosque and dungeon. Mughal emperors lived here.
The Taj Mahal- Built by the Mughal Emperor Shan Jahan in memory of his third, but favorite wife , Mumtaz Mahal. She died in childbirth of their13th child. She asked Shan Jaham to build her a monument so beautiful that the world would never forget their love. Construction began in 1632 and it took 20,000 laborer about 17 years to complete the vast complex.

It is a beautiful piece of artwork. You could not take pictures inside the mausoleum, where the tombs are, only outside.
