New Delhi - January 1- 4

We arrived at the New Delhi Airport at 9:30 in the morning on January 1 after a 4 hour flight from Dubai. At the airport we purchased two metro tickets to the New Delhi train station. I asked for two metro tickets at the ticket counter, paid for the tickets and waited for change. The ticket agent would not give me my change. I demanded my change and the Indian person behind me interceded on my be half and the change was quickly returned to me. We boarded the Metro and went to New Delhi. Most of the Indian people we met spoke English.

January 1 Friday
We were able to walk from the train station to our hotel in fifteen minutes. We had to walk through the Main Bazaar, a crowded street of vendors with cars, tuk-tuks, motorcycles, push carts, and cycle carts speeding through the crowd of people walking down the street.
We found our hotel, the Smyle Inn, down a side street, a very narrow passage also crowded with motorcycles, push carts and people.
We refreshed ourselves and headed out to explore the area . We meet a tuktuk driver who showed us the handicraft markets and we returned to our hotel and went to bed exhausted at 5:00 PM.
