Thiruvalluvar Statue- This a statue of the ancient Tamil poet Thiruvalluvrar. It is 133 feet high and took over 5000 sculptors to build in 2,000.
Vivekananda Memorial- The famous Hindu apostle Swami Vivekananda mediated here from December 25-27, 1892. (It was a rock island.) Then he took his moral message to the world outside of India. Built in 1970.

Our hotel was close to the ocean with a great rooftop view of the surrounding area, in room WIFI, rooftop swimming pool and a great sunset view.
This is a Catholic city and there were many churches in the town.
Lots of places to shop!!
This man is adding natural pearls to a necklace I bought to make it longer. Every shop in town sold natural pink, black or white pearl jewelry.
The theme for most of the shops in town was the ocean. The shops sold all kinds of sea shell and ocean related items.
